Detect light intensity! The Light Sensor assists in helping your robot to “see.” Using the NXT Brick (sold separately), it enables your robot to distinguish between light and dark, as well as determine the light intensity in a room or the light intensity of different colors.
This is an excellent low cost addition to the Mindstorm. By adding to the included light sensor the 2 light sensors can be used to track the front corners or one in the front and one in the back for bidirectional tracking.
I recommend this for one of your first additions to your kit.
